The Mulroy Family Research Project....

This site was put together to help others researching the Mulroy family line. All information collected on Mulroys will be added to the site. from our research.  Family researchers also submit their information as well.  Marriage records, birth records, census information and history. The other goal we have is to add as many documents and pictures as we can to the site.

We feel if everyone shares this information freely that we can tie more of the Mulroy family back together. This includes those members that are doing research that is not online. If you contact us we will give contact information for either regular mail or by telephone.

We understand that everyone has a different comfort level when it comes to sharing information online. We have rules and guidelines that we follow when posting information. The rule of thumb we follow is not to post information on living individules unless we have their permission. There is so much information on this website and it is only growing. It is impossible for us to please every single person and we must protect the integrity of the website.

Biographies

We are doing biographies to bring Mulroys to life...

This seciton of the website is growing the fastest. New information is constantly being added to biographies as well as documents and pictures. Information on the Internet is limited and we are starting to find the bottom. We are very limited in being able to gather this information ourselves. Problems are location as one of us is in Ireland and the other in South Dakota. We need your help in getting information. Ways you can help can be found in the new menu located on the site "How You Can Help" together we can get massive amounts of information. In this area we list information, records etc that know are available and need help getting.

• Send us information that you know on your family and pictures if available.
• Go hunting for records, documents, information and pictures of places and headstones.
• Help us correct errors on bigraphies.
• If you know of a biography on the site that needs connected to a family, record etc let us know so we can correct it.

Male Mulroy DNA Project

We are asking male Mulroys to take the Ancestry.com Y-Chromosome (46) test. It is $179 and has to be taken by a male Mulroy as the Y-Chromosome is passed down male to male. Only one male has to take the test from your family line.

The test takes a few weeks to be completed and results are posted on your free ancestry.com account. It will automatically compared your DNA markers with other Mulroys. It will answer your questions of how you are related to other Mulroy males and how far back. This opens the door to your roots!

This test gives us the ability to see how many generations back you shared a common ancestor and this test goes back many generations.

This information will help us be able to see which Mulroys families came from which areas in Ireland as well as helping us understanding the migration and immigration of Mulroys.

Site membership

Signing up to be a member of the site is 100% free. All information on this site is free for family research use.

Registering gives you the ability to add attachments to biographies in the Mulroys by Name List section. You will see the link to add an attachment at the bottom of the biography once you are logged in. It is very simple to use and we must approve all attachments before they are displayed.

We send out e-mails to all registered users on updates to the website and changes.

Registered users can post comments with out having them approved.

Eventually we will be restricting some information to registered users only.
